Sour Cream Cake

3 cups plain flour, sift 3 times
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. soda
6 eggs
3 cups sugar
2 sticks butter
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla or lemon flavoring

Cream butter and sugar. Add one egg at a time and beat well after each one. Add flour, alternate with sour cream starting and ending with flour.
Grease and flour a tube pan, then put batter in pan. Place pan in a cold oven. Set oven at 300 degrees and cook for 2 hours. Let cool in pan before removing from pan.
